New
- The Microsoft Word table format information “Header row” and “First column” are taken into account for the table roles “Automatic” and “Table”, provided that no style sheet roles are used within the table. This is a breaking change, see New features for tables in axesWord 25.0.
- Bookmarks are exported in full. This is controlled via the “Heading” styles or the axesWord style role “Heading”.
- The “Quote” style built into Word is exported as a “BlockQuote” element.
- The new roles “Title” and “Subtitle” can be assigned to a style in the axesWord role assignments.
New “Entra ID” licensing option
axesWord 25.0 contains the new option “Entra ID licensing”; this allows axes4 products to be licensed without any communication to axes4 servers.

- Improved implementation of the list attribute “ListNumbering” in the PDF.
- Improvements to the translations.
- Implementation of sub-tables of contents (sub-TOCs) in accordance with the “Tagged PDF Best Practice Guide: Syntax”.
- axesWord now exports in PDF version 1.7.
- axesWord displays a warning when the Word compatibility mode is active.
- Non-interactive cross-references are now exported as “Reference”.
- The “Title” attribute is written for “Title”, “Subtitle” and “Headings” for better navigation in the PDF.
- axesWord adapts the interface language to the set Word interface language. If this is not supported, the operating system setting applies. If this is also not supported, axesWord is displayed in English.
- Improvements to the user interface for the license overview in axesWord.
- Improvements to the license manager.

- Fixed a bug when the “Decorative” property was used on an (inline) shape.
- Fixed a bug when writing the number of bookmarks.
- Fixed a bug when using the symbol fonts “Symbol” and “Webdings”.
- Fixed a bug when using user-defined footnote numbering.
- Fixed a bug when using footnotes in multi-column text.
- Fixed a bug with rotated text that was embedded from other Office applications.
Installation instructions
- If you have not installed axesWord or have installed an older version of axesWord (e.g. 23.4): Install version 25.0 as usual, without taking any further action.
- If you have already installed a version 25.0 beta: Uninstall the existing beta first.
