Security and compliance

axesFlip is designed with security and compliance as core principles.

On-premises deployment options

Document processing takes place locally on the customer's system for the on-premises deployment options of axesFlip. Documents are never sent, uploaded, or transmitted to external systems, cloud services, or third-party servers — document content remains fully under the customer's control at all times.

Depending on the chosen deployment options and licensing model, axesFlip may exchange a minimal set of technical metadata (such as a document identifier and page count) with the axes4 billing service for usage-based licensing. Document content is never part of this communication. For environments with strict isolation requirements, license models are available that allow axesFlip to operate fully offline, with no outbound communication. Details on deployment options are described in the axesFlip deployment options overview.

Compliance

This architecture supports GDPR compliance, organizational security policies, and regulatory compliance objectives. It combines local processing with strictly limited, content-agnostic licensing communication.
