No. The tools are for different steps in the PDF accessibility workflow:
- axesWord - The first step in the workflow, for authoring documents and converting them to PDFs.
- axesPDF - The quality assurance step in the workflow, for evaluating the PDF and remediating any issues.
Other important differences:
- axesWord is only for the "Word Workflow" - axesWord can create PDFs that fully conform with PDF/UA. You can use axesPDF to evaluate the generated PDF, but the free PDF accessibility checker (PAC) should be enough.
- axesPDF - A tool for all accessible PDFs (and workflows), but especially for accessible PDF documents created with Adobe InDesign or Acrobat.
