What it does
The document view displays the currently open PDF and highlights the results of selected nodes. You can also click on individual shapes to inspect their properties.
Use it for
Opening example PDF documents to build, test, and validate your templates.
How to use it
When you open a PDF using the Open PDF button in the Menu, the document appears on the right side of the window in the document view.
Navigation
Use the following controls to navigate within the document view:
- Zoom in/out: Hold Ctrl and scroll with the mouse wheel
- Scroll up/down: Use the mouse wheel
- Scroll left/right: Hold Shift and scroll with the mouse wheel
- Move the visible area: Right-click and drag, or hold the Spacebar, then left-click and drag
Display shape properties
Click on any shape in the PDF (text, path, or image) to view its properties in the Shape Properties task pane.
To inspect a shape that is behind another, click and hold on the overlapping area. A selection menu will appear showing all shapes in that area—choose the desired shape from the list.
Drag a selection rectangle across multiple shapes to view their properties simultaneously. Values for position, size, and font size will be displayed as ranges.
Check node results
When you select a node in your template, its output is highlighted in the document view. Arrows indicate the order of the elements.
You can also click on an element in the Node Result task pane to highlight it in the document with a red rectangle.
