Remove Language Assignments

What it does

This tool can delete language assignments. You can do this separatly for structure elements or content elements. Additionally, you can choose if you want to remove the language declarations only on the highest level ("parent element") and/or on the lower levels ("child elements").
Optionally, you can delete language assignments within untagged content or within artifacts.

Use it for

To clean up structure or content elements.

How to use it

1. Click in the ribbon tab Extras on the button Remove Language Assignments.
   
2. Activate in the dialogue box Remove Language Assignments one or more check boxes:
   
   
   • "Logical Structure":
     deletes all language assignments in structure elements - deletion is done on the highest level ("parent element") and on lower levels ("child elements")
   • "Tagged content":
     deletes all language assignments in content elements - deletion is done on the highest level ("parent element") and on lower levels ("child elements")
   • "Untagged content":
     deletes all language assignments in untagged content
3. Click on the button OK.

Deleting only in selected structure elements and/or on selected levels

1. Click in the ribbon tab Extras on the button Remove Language Assignments.
2. Click on the button Advanced.
   
3. Activate in the upper part of the dialogue box all structure elements in which the deletion process shall be done. With the button Select all you can activate all check boxes. The button Deselect all deactivates all check boxes.
4. Activate in the lower part of the dialogue box all elements where deletion shall be done:
   • "Structure Element": 
     deletes all language assignments in structure elements only on the highest level ("parent element")
   • "Child Elements": 
     deletes all language assignments in structure elements only on lower levels ("child elements")
   • "Direct Content": 
     deletes all language assignments in content elements only on the highest level ("parent element")
   • "Content of Child Elements":
     deletes all language assignments in content elements only on lower levels ("child elements")
   • "Artifacts":
     deletes all language assignments in artifacts
   • "Untagged content":
     deletes all language assignments in untagged content
5. Click on the button OK.
