Objective
The objective of this technique is to show how to tag a real content paragraph correctly.
How to implement this technique with axesWord
Use case 1: Text content
- Enter content in Word, e.g.:
Note:
Every content which is entered in the main page area will be correctly tagged by axesWord.
Content which is entered in the header or footer will be artifacted as default. You can change that by setting the roles Section header or Section trailer with axesWord (see Headers and footers). - Create a PDF with axesWord (see Button "Export PDF").
- Done!
How to check this technique with PAC
- Start PAC.
- Check the logical structure tree of the PDF in the Structure elements pane.
Result: The paragraph is correctly tagged as a P structure element.
Use case 2a: Graphic content is real content
- Enter a graphic in Word, e.g.:
Note:
Graphic content which is entered in the main page area will be correctly tagged as Figure structure element by axesWord . - Don't forget to enter an alternative text in the axesWord - role mapping pane, e.g. "Right arrow" (see Button "Show role mapping").
- Done!
How to check this technique with PAC
- Start PAC.
- Check the logical structure tree of the PDF in the Structure elements pane.
Result: The graphic is correctly tagged as a Figure structure element.
Use case 2b: Graphic content is decorative
If the graphic is decorative, just use the Artifact role in the axesWord - role mapping pane (see Button "Show role mapping").
How to check this technique with PAC
- Start PAC.
- Check the Artifacts pane.
Result: The graphic is artifacted.
