Which elements are supported by axesWord in headers/footers?

1. Supported elements

Textual elements

You can use the following text elements in headers/footers in the same way as you are used to in your body text:

  • Paragraphs
  • Links
  • Lists
  • Block quotes

Images

Insert images such as logos in your headers/footers. Proceed in the same way as for images in your body text.

Ensure that the images are correctly anchored if you are not using the Word layout option In line with text.

Note

Do not forget to specify an alternative text for the images.

Tables

Tables in a header and/or footer are supported by axesWord.

Define the role of the table if the Default role does not apply. To do this, click in the table. For example, if it is a layout table, select the corresponding Layout table role. In this case, also specify the reading direction of the layout table.

2. Not supported elements

Text boxes

Text boxes in headers and/or footers are currently not supported by axesWord. Text boxes are always treated as artefacts.

Please avoid using a mixture of text boxes and the other elements mentioned here within a header or footer, as this may lead to errors in the logical structure tree.
