Word setting “Different First Page” and “Different Odd & Even Pages”
Word offers you the option of creating a separate header/footer for the first page (of a section) as well as different headers/footers for odd and even pages.
Go to the Header & Footer tab.
Then activate the corresponding checkboxes.
If you have inserted section breaks in your document, you can define these settings separately for each section.
Role mappings with axesWord®
With axesWord® you have the option to make the information in your headers/footers accessible and to include it in the logical structure tree. Most other conversion programs do not offer this option, but automatically mark all headers/footers as artifacts.
With axesWord® you can decide whether the contents of the headers/footers shall be inserted at the beginning or end of the section in the logical structure tree of the PDF. Of course, you also have the option of treating headers/footers as artifacts.
You can use the axesWord - role mappings pane to specify separately for all headers/footers of all sections whether they should be included in the logical structure tree or not (see also Button "Show role mapping" article).
If you have defined different headers/footers in a section, all headers/footers of a section are listed one after the other in the logical structure tree (either at the beginning or end of the section, depending on the role mapping you have selected).
Word setting “Link to Previous”
If you have several sections in your document, but the headers/footers of a subsequent section shall look exactly the same as in the previous section, activate the Link to Previous option. Then a comment "Same as Previous" will also be shown in the document view.
