Why are the page dimensions of my PDF not correct?

What is the issue?

The page dimensions are not as expected.

The error may be caused by an incorrect printer configuration. Specifically, this means that certain values in the GDP file are not correct.

What is a GPD file?

Each printer has a text description (GPD file), which is stored in a subdirectory of C:\Windows\System32\spool\V4Dirs.
The correct file name can be found in the registry for local printers: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\[PRINTERNAME]\PrinterDriverData

The GPD file contains page size definitions for all supported document page sizes. Microsoft Word calculates the values for each page based on this information. If axesWord receives incorrect values from Word's Publisher interface, this is likely to be the cause of the problem.

How to fix it?

Please first check the page dimensions in the PDF export from Microsoft Word are correct.

Please then check which printer(s) are installed on your computer and whether the values in the GPD file for the page formats are correct (you should check all existing printers).

Alternatively, you can try changing the default printer to “Microsoft Print to PDF”.
